No matter how prominent and important operational functions are, real entrepreneurship is simply something different. The opportunity/risk profile is different, the degrees of freedom and decision-making powers are simply greater and it has always been my goal to take the leap into entrepreneurship from a secure position and build something sustainable.

From Goal to Fulfillment

After I left the operational management functions and built up my mandate portfolio including the two honorary positions, the structure of my work was actually complete. In the summer of 2023, I was informed by the long-standing managing director of the AirportClub (of which I have been a very satisfied member since 2006) about various negative developments caused by the crisis (Corona, real estate crisis). My promise to look for possible "helping hands" in my network then developed within a few weeks into the idea of taking on responsibility here myself as the main shareholder. The promise of the incumbent managing director to stay in office for at least another 3 years, the recognizable reputation of the club as a real institution and the concrete promises of many well-known people from my personal network to help out at both the shareholder and advisory board level were ultimately the "trigger" to sign the notarial contract as the main shareholder and majority owner in September. The ability and willingness to contribute conceptually and strategically, the joy of interacting with people and the fun of networking ultimately convinced me that this venture could be exactly the entrepreneurial activity that could round off my spectrum of activity. People around me who know me well even see a "perfect fit".
